The National Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Awareness Day (18th March 2018) aims to highlight the issues surrounding CSE; encouraging everyone to think, spot and speak out against abuse and adopt a zero tolerance to adults developing inappropriate relationships with children and children developing inappropriate relationships with other children.

Camden is highly committed to tackling child sexual exploitation (CSE) and providing support to victims and those at risk. To mark CSE Awareness Day, this week, the Camden Safeguarding Children Board partners will be working together to facilitate a ‘week of action’. This will include:

  • Raising awareness with the professionals attending our Safeguarding Adolescents Conference on Monday 12th March
  • Delivering training with our community partners
  • Safer Schools and Youth Engagement officers delivering tailored work with young people in our secondary schools, including assemblies, PHSE lessons and drop in sessions
  • Targeted work with police cadets and youth groups
  • Police partners will be raising awareness with businesses as part of Operation Makesafe
  • Our partners from The Children’s Society, Safer London Foundation and CAMISH network will continue to raise the profile of sexual exploitation
